So I’m gonna write all serious for a second, okay? When I started this blog in 2010 my life was very different; that April I moved back to Baltimore (my hometown) after having lived in Manhattan for the better part of 5 years. I was living with my close friend Stacy, jobless and living off of inheritance money from my grandparents.
On October 23rd I will have been in Brooklyn for 3 years (my Baltimore stay was short and miserable), I live with 2 friendly guys and a kitty, I have a job that pays my bills and I’m in a serious relationship. My life is really different and I don’t have as much free time.
My original goal here was to post only finished pieces of work, to utilize as if it were as precious as a portfolio. Now most of my art time is spent planning the web-comic I’m working on, Cloudboy and the Young Adventurers, about a 10 year old weather wizard and his adventures with the volcano monk Briand and the wood elf Dart. Lots of magic, action, and exploration.
What that means for this space is I’m going to be posting my ideas and drawings more frequently but there will be less “finished” pieces and more sketchbook work. I hope this is an exciting prospect for most of you reading this and I hope to have a lot of stuff to show off in the future.
